Creativity in full colour during Art Week
Art Week brought colour, creativity and imagination to St Paul’s Anglican Grammar School, with secondary school students across the Traralgon and Warragul Campuses embracing opportunities to create, collaborate and showcase their talents.
At Traralgon, students and staff were invited to colour, create and connect through a range of activities facilitated by the school’s Art educators. A collaborative drip wall brought students together to contribute to a shared artwork, while mystery boxes challenged them to consider, “Can you transform ordinary objects into an extraordinary artwork?” as they reimagined everyday items in creative new ways.
Students also explored colour, light and movement through the glowing Lantern Lab installation, added their own designs to a vibrant chalk walk and worked together to create a whole-Secondary School collaborative artwork celebrating the collective creativity of the school community.
At Warragul, students embraced their own creative talents through a week of lunchtime activities, along with a special artist workshop afternoon. Sculptures, murals and balloon creations provided opportunities for students to experiment with different forms of artistic expression, with artworks quickly transformed through the brushstrokes, ideas and enthusiasm of participating students.
The week also celebrated creativity beyond visual art, with the St Paul’s Talent Show bringing music and performance to the spotlight. Students from Years 7 to 12 showcased their talents through singing and instrumental performances, culminating in a performance by Year 12 student band, The Broken Frets.
Across both campuses, Art Week encouraged students to enjoy the creative process, take a few risks and discover what can be achieved with imagination, collaboration and even the simplest everyday objects.
Creativity continues beyond Art Week through the Art Club co-curricular program, providing students with opportunities to develop their skills, explore their passions and connect with fellow creatives.
