The School is incredibly proud of the way our class of 2024 embraced every opportunity they were presented with both in and outside of the classroom. They have applied themselves to their studies in a dedicated and enthusiastic manner and balanced this with involvement in a wide array of co-curricular pursuits. The Class of 2024 approached this year with maturity and good humour and have actively pursued their potential to achieve excellent results.

This year’s cohort have a variety of plans for the immediate future from tertiary study in areas such as health, commerce and law, as well as employment opportunities such as apprenticeships and Australian Defence Force traineeships.

St Paul’s students regularly achieve outstanding results and hence selection into the VCE Season of Excellence run by the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA). Only the most outstanding VCE students from the previous year are invited to exhibit or perform.

Additional Student Achievements

Beyond the classroom students excel in a range of activities, including Tournament of Minds (2024 State Champions, STEM Division), DAV Debating (State Champions in Year 9 in 2022) and the Australian Mathematics Olympiad. Students are also involved in ICAS (International Competitions and Assessments for Schools), the Australian Mathematics Competition, and local and state writing, speaking and art competitions.

The Duke of Edinburgh Award is also undertaken by a number of students each year. In 2022 and 2024, students from St Paul’s received a George Collins scholarship to complete the Kokoda Trek.

NAPLAN Results

Our 2024 NAPLAN results were again very positive, with the mean score for St Paul’s exceeding the national average in nearly all areas of testing and at all year levels. In 2023, NAPLAN moved from May to March and the scale was reset, meaning that the progress measure will not be available until the 2023-2025 NAPLAN data can be compared. However, our focus on ensuring that students continue to improve remains paramount and an internal analysis of NAPLAN and other testing is used to help guide and develop the potential in all students.

We recognise that each year group is different and some are stronger than others. We value student participation in co-curricular activities and believe it is important to ensure that each child’s individual needs are met through personalised learning and that they have every opportunity to not only achieve their personal best but also thrive from a well-rounded education.

For a more detailed analysis of NAPLAN results, please read our School’s Annual Report or visit the My School website.

Post-School Destinations

From astrophysics to zoology, anything is possible with a St Paul’s education.

Our most recent graduates benefited from an extensive network to support their academic endeavours during their final year of secondary schooling. Paired with their brilliant representation across all areas of co-curricular, our Class of 2024 left us ready to pursue a range of study, employment and other pathways.

We are proud of the many avenues a St Paul’s education has provided our Class of 2024. Over 90% of our students continued their studies at a university that inspired their interest and passion, with an increasing number of students receiving early offers from a range of institutions. A number of our graduates applied to TAFE, accepted apprenticeship and traineeship offers, or entered the workforce. No matter their pathway, every student left us ready to embrace their future.

The latest Independent Schools Victoria LEAD (Listen, Evaluate, Act, Deliver) survey achieved a higher approval rating for St Paul’s than the ISV average among Years 10-12 students, specifically regarding the information and advice they had received about future career options.
