Young innovators’ national win
Three Year 3 students from St Paul’s Anglican Grammar School’s Traralgon Campus have been named national winners of the 2025 ScrapHeat Challenge.
Supported by the school’s personalised learning Horizon Extension Program and competing as the Waste Warriors, the students developed an inventive composting project that highlighted their commitment to sustainability and innovative thinking.
Among more than 200 teams nationwide, the Waste Warriors’ project impressed the judges with its innovative ideas, scientific approach and a project that promoted healthier soils and a greener planet.
The ScrapHeat Challenge encourages students from across Australia to build critical thinking, problem-solving and STEM skills by tackling real-world problems with creativity and collaboration.
