New VCE Centre & Specialist Hub
St Paul’s Anglican Grammar School has marked a historic moment for its Traralgon Campus, officially breaking ground on a purpose-built VCE Centre and Specialist Hub during a ‘Turning of the Sod’ ceremony held on Friday 21 November.
The construction of this new facility marks a significant milestone in the history of St Paul’s Traralgon Campus, as the school prepares to offer Years 11 and 12 for the first time from 2026. This exciting development will cater to senior students across the Latrobe Valley, preparing them for life beyond school by equipping them with the skills and guidance needed to pursue further education and enter the workforce with confidence.
Made possible through a $2.2 million Capital Grant from the Australian Government’s Capital Grants Program, the new VCE Centre is scheduled for completion by Term 1, 2027. The building will feature modern, flexible learning spaces, including two Food Technology studios, two Science laboratories and six general-purpose classrooms. Designed with collaboration and adaptability in mind, the centre will also be equipped to operate as a registered VCE Examination Centre, providing a comprehensive senior learning environment.
This special occasion also recognised the foundation VCE cohort, who were presented with a VCE 2027 badge for their blazers, marking the beginning of their two-year senior journey. The event provided an opportunity for students and families to come together ahead of the exciting two-year journey that lies ahead.
The ceremony was led by St Paul’s Principal, Mr Cameron Herbert, with The Right Reverend Dr Richard Treloar (Anglican Bishop of Gippsland) offering a blessing of the site, with staff, students, families and members of the community, all celebrating the exciting new chapter for the school’s Traralgon Campus.
