Musical collaboration transcends geography

Music students from St Paul’s Anglican Grammar School collaborated with students from other SEISA schools in Gippsland and South-East Melbourne to create harmonies and showcase their musical talent at the annual SEISA Music Festival.

SEISA is the South Eastern Independent Schools Association which hosts team sports, cultural events, carnivals and a leadership weekend for students from St Paul’s Anglican Grammar School, Newhaven College, Gippsland Grammar and Beaconhills College.

Secondary school musicians from St Paul’s Traralgon and Warragul Campuses joined the other SEISA schools at Berwick to participate in orchestral and choral workshops led by special guests including conductor Mark Shiell from Orchestra Victoria, and conductors Joanna Patcos and Mark Puddy from the Australian School of Performing Arts.

The two-day festival culminated with a concert performance by all students joining as one Choir and Orchestra and featured performances from a SEISA soloist from each school, with Sahanna Harikrishna representing the Traralgon Campus and Holly Davidson representing the Warragul Campus of St Paul’s.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of SEISA which provides students with friendly cross-community sporting competitions and collaborative cultural events.
